Founded in 1964, the British Columbia Institute of technology (BCIT) serves the success of learners and employers by providing high-quality education and training that supports our graduates as practitioners and citizens, and by advancing the state-of-practice in a variety of disciplines.
The Institute offers more than 350 programs covering Trades, Engineering, Information Technology, Business and Health, to a client base of over 48,000 students annually, at four campuses, located in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. We are a polytechnic institute, which means that we take a practical, applied and hands-on approach to all of our teaching and business activities.
The SITE Centre for Applied Research is a technical assistance unit of the British Columbia Institute of Technology that extends its education and research activities based on the academic learning and expertise acquired and developed at BCIT.
Mission and Vision
The British Columbia Institute of Technology’s vision is to be integral to the economic, social and environmental prosperity of British Columbia. The SITE Centre fulfills this vision by undertaking applied business research and consultancy services on behalf of industry and public sector clients.
Our goal is to engage BCIT’s talented faculty and students, in collaboration with academic and industry specialists, in providing clients with workable solutions to their challenging business problems.
Participating students will gain relevant work experience which may lead to employment. The Institute’s provincial mandate – to build economic capacity for British Columbia – will be fulfilled.
